Marisa told you a couple of months ago about Dinner: Impossible chef/host Robert Irvine losing his job because he embellished his resume just a tad (he lied about his experience, including a tiny fib about, um, doing Princess Di's wedding cake). Now the Food Network show has named a new host.
Michael Symon will be the new guy who comes into people's homes to help them with their cooking and tackles crazy food challenges. Not only is Symon one of the Iron Chefs of the network, he actually won the Next Iron Chef competition. The new shows will start airing this summer.

Who are the Michael Symon fans? Everyone who watched the "Next Iron Chef" competition knows that John Besh was tailor made for the spot and caonducted himself like an Iron Chef the entire time. It appears his referencing his semi-clear soup as "consume" was his downfall. In the meantime, the galumphing, utterly unexciting Michael Symon has captured the role and I've yet to meet a cingle person who actually is a fan of his. And now they took Robert Irvine, one d-bag who was entertaining, and replaced him with another d-bag who is anything but.
Sigh. Forgive my rant, but "BOOOOO, FOOD NETWORK! BOOOO!"

I am certainly no Michael Symon fan at all. I didn't want the Iron Chef challenge just for that reason. I think he was the wrong one to take the win. And now, they have given DI to him, makes me sad. I do not think he is right for the job and he doesn't have that thing about him that will capture the audience. And I think that John Besh was totally ripped off.
Who doesn't fib on their resumes? I think the Food network amde a mistake. They lost a viewer.

I'm a Michael Simon fan, though I too thought Besh had it in the bag. Food Network really didn't have to fire Robert Irvine, if he made a public apology I'm sure the fans would have been forgiving.
Dinner: Impossible; or as Bourdain calls it Dinner: Slightly Difficult.

Hi,
New poster here. I was actually starting to enjoy Dinner:Impossible. I have been watching cooking shows since Julia and Graham Kerr days. I liked the idea of watching someone try to cook for hundreds to thousands of people. Interesting to see large scale cooking versus the average meal prep. They shouldn't have fired him. Now Symon is just going to do another stand and stir show from what it sounds like.

I'll not be watching DI as long as Robert Irvine isn't the host. Symon is not a good replacement either, but then how can you replace the best. Too bad, FN had a good show going too. Robert deserves a second chance or at least a chance to apologize.

I won't be watching the show either ... I didn't like Symon on NIC ... I've seen one Iron Chef he did & he LOST (That was karma) and he was horrible on it ...
The Food Network didn't let John Besh win because they wanted to be able to use him for other shows as a judge ... Aaron Sanchez used to be on "Melting Pot" years ago (I loved that show) ...
Michael Symon's got NO personality and I want to shave that little "soul patch" off his face as it makes him look unkempt ... His food looked horrible ...
Mark Summers is an idiot ... and it's all Summers' fault for NOT doing a background check on Robert Irvine ...
People love Robert ... I don't know of anyone who is a fan of Michael Symon ...
I wondered why the show was turning into an hour long show ... Now we know ...

I will not watch DI without Robert Irvine I have said all along I dont care what his credentials are I just enjoyed watching the show. He has the personality to make it fun and work. Symon will kill The show. I didnt like him in the next Iron chef and I dont watch his competitions. He is seriously lacking a personality. Why didnt the Food Network let the fans decide who we want. They had a sucess and changed the mix. They dont know the saying if it isn't broke dont change it. Come how many people really care about his credentials. All I can say is listen up Food Network you made a HUGE MISTAKE
